The top management based on research carried out in this work decided if there was a need for a new advanced information system (IS). Other objectives of the publication are to provide theoretical background for the top management of the company in the ICT field, to establish the necessary harmony between the functional ICT strategy and the general corporate strategy, to perform necessary ICT strategic analysis of the company and to formulate a proposal of ICT functional strategy including a competent proposal (recommendation) if and how to acquire the new IS (buy, in-house develop or lease).
