The purpose of the study was to assess the perception of students & teachers on academic performance in selected Molo Secondary schools in Kenya. Specific objectives of the study were; to determine the relationship between poverty & performance of students in national examinations, the relationship between School facilities & performance of students in national examinations, the relationship between the quality of teachers & performance of students in national examinations, the relationship between indiscipline & performance of students in national examinations & the relationship between Home environment & performance of students in national examinations. Methods of data collection were questionnaires & interviews. The study revealed that school facilities are important for students to perform well in examinations & that unqualified teachers do not teach well leading to poor performance in national examinations.
