The standard techniques of open and closed haemorrhoidectomy were done in randomly selected patients in elective settings. All the surgeries were performed or supervised directly by consultant surgeons. Post-operatively, the results were gauged in terms of pain, wound healing and infections. Return to normal activity was also monitored in out-patients setting.
