As a member of this group and a mental health worker, the author deeply feels that increasing efforts are being made to ensure that settlement service and mental health service delivery meet immigrants'' needs and that it is necessary to increase the understanding of the mental health needs of the New Zealand Chinese population; in particular, those individuals recovering from mental health problems. The aims of this book are to demonstrate how New Zealand Chinese with BD manage their condition to maintain and regain wellness by using self-management techniques and how those techniques impact on their social functioning and individual wellbeing.
