In the stomach peripheral stimulation of CRFR2 can protect the stomach from stress induced ulceration. Peripheral stimulation of CRFR2 in the stomach inhibits its motility producing gastric stasis. The stimulation of peripheral CRFR2 by specific agonists will be helpful in the treatment of inflammatory condition of the stomach without interfering with colonic functions.
