LAP Lambert Academic Publishing Although Parkinson's disease is debilitating millions of people around the globe, none of the current therapies has been able to curb the progression of the disease, laying a serious challenge before the neuroscience community. Both pharmacological as well as non-drug approaches have been proposed and extensively investigated. This works offers an extensive description of some of the new promising non-traditional approaches in the management of Parkinson's disease with a special focus on the interesting potential use of stem cell-based regenerative therapies in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
