Root canal treatment usually fails when treatment falls short of these objectives. A growing interest in endodontic retreatment has been seen recently, caused by an increasing demand to preserve teeth, including those cases where endodontic therapy has failed. The crucial procedure involved in retreatment is the removal of the original obturated material from the root canal and regain access to the apical foramen. “Retreatodontics” : Reviving Pathways, addresses topics such as indications for endodontic re-treatment, safe and efficient removal of exsisting obturating materials, challenges such as separated instruments and assessment of the prognosis and success rate of endodonric re-treatment.
