LAP Lambert Academic Publishing A novel series of pyrazolopyrimidine incorporated benzothiazoles have been synthesized.The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus megaterium, Escherichia coli,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans. Compounds 4a,4d and 4h-j exhibited significant activity againstthe Gram-negative bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Compounds 4b, 4e, 4h, 4j and 4k were found to be active against Candida albicans.Some of these selected compounds were also evaluated for their analgesic, anti-inflammatory and ulcerogenic profile.Compound 4jshowed promising analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities with minimal ulcerogenic potential compared to the standard drug diclofenac sodium.
