The title of the book project is "Transactional Leadership Styles of Heads of the Departments". Transactional leadership begins with established goals or directives of their organization and motivates employees to pursue these directives by clarifying role and task requirements through rewards, if standards are not met. The present study aimed at finding out the nature of the transactional leadership style of the heads of the departments of colleges in Kolkata. It also aimed at finding out the relationship between emotional intelligence and ways of coping of the heads of the departments. It is a correlational study. The data were collected extensively from heads of the departments of different colleges under University of Calcutta and data were processed for statistical analysis.
