The recognition of the growth and possibilities of this instrument has lead to many recent investigations in this field. The present study seeks to develop an empirically relevant model of the role of movies in enhancing life skills. A new model of influence of film is advanced from a developmental-interactionist perspective, labelling film as containing channels of comprehension (cognitive) and empathy (emotional,) with an integrative attitude dimension.
