Modern desktop computing has brought image recognition technology into the reach of even the most modestly funded organization. Sorting through the myriad of text available on the subject can be a daunting task. This study contains descriptions of some of the most commonly used methods implemented in image recognition as well as a demonstration of the feasibility of using such systems on commonly available desktop computers.
