Developing interlinked lexical resources for Sanskrit can be used in various NLP applications like building WordNet, dictionaries, Sanskrit-Indian Language Machine Translation System (MTS) etc. The work explores an interconnected lexical resource system in the form of relational database and multi-dimensional knowledge based indexing system for ayurvedic herbs. This work is based on Vanausadhi Varga (VV), one of the chapters of Amarakosa (AK), the most popular Sanskrit lexicon ascribed to Amarasi?ha (4th Century CE) and Bhavaprakasa Nigha??u (BPN) of Bhavamisra (16th Century AD), one of the most accepted texts of ayurvedic nigha??u (glossaries). This work, besides being an essential resource in NL system of Sanskrit, may also be useful for authentic and referential knowledge about Indian Ayurvedic heritage.
